EDGEWOOD, Md. — Aberdeen High School and Fallston High School split team victories Monday night during a dual swim meet at Edgewood Middle School, a competition that doubled as a senior recognition event for athletes from both programs set to graduate in 2026.
Aberdeen claimed the boys meet, finishing with 90 points to Fallston’s 51, while Fallston dominated the girls competition, winning 127–29, according to official results.
The Eagles’ boys team set the tone early, winning the 200-yard medley relay and later sweeping both freestyle relay events. Justin Eng led Aberdeen with individual victories in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 butterfly, while Alex Park captured the 100 freestyle and anchored two winning relays. Gabriel Rios added a win in the 500 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.
Fallston’s boys were paced by Theo Kidwell, who won the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke, and Ben Montoya, who placed in multiple events to keep the Cougars competitive.
On the girls side, Fallston controlled nearly every event, opening with a win in the 200 medley relay and closing with victories in both freestyle relays. Madi Hoyer was a standout, winning the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle and swimming on the winning 400 freestyle relay. Jenny Phillips earned first-place finishes in the 500 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, while Maddy Burch swept the individual medley and backstroke events.
Aberdeen’s girls were led by Ayanna Ranjan, who placed second in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Cecilia Gonzalez, who contributed points in freestyle and breaststroke races.
Beyond the scoreboard, the meet carried added significance as both programs honored their senior swimmers before competition. Teammates, coaches, and families recognized the graduating athletes for their contributions to their schools and swim programs.
The dual meet marked one of the final regular-season competitions for both teams as they prepare for postseason championship meets later this winter.
